STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥 Photographic creations by a May graduate of 亚洲色吧视频鈥檚 College of Architecture, Art and Design have been accepted into two national exhibitions.

Created by MSU Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate Ronnie B. Robinson of West Point, a multi-paneled cyanotype photogram titled 鈥淕irl with Horns鈥 was accepted into 鈥渟he,鈥 a national exhibition at the Smith Gallery in Johnson, Texas.

On display through June 11, the exhibition was juried by award-winning New York photographer Kat Kiernan, whose photographic narratives have been featured in various publications including 鈥淔raction Magazine鈥 and 鈥淔-Stop Magazine.鈥

Additionally, two of Robinson鈥檚 digital images were accepted earlier this spring in the 2017 Midwest Center for Photography Juried Exhibition in Wichita, Kansas.

Titled 鈥淟ove Me Love Me Not鈥 and 鈥淲ater Weight,鈥 the works are part of Robinson鈥檚 narrative-based photographic series, 鈥淧lay Nice, Dearie,鈥 which follows the transformation of a young girl from adolescence into womanhood. Through the series, Robinson said she seeks 鈥渢o explore and understand the emotions, psyche and society鈥檚 treatment of a young woman.鈥

With academic concentrations in photography and graphic design, Robinson has been guided by Professor Marita Gootee and Assistant Professor Dominic Lippillo of the art department鈥檚 photography emphasis area. Gootee is the department鈥檚 longtime photography coordinator.

鈥淲hile Ronnie鈥檚 work explores different techniques and processes, the images selected for these exhibitions share a common thread exploring issues dealing with the pressures young women face as they grow up,鈥 Lippillo said.

鈥淭he way Ronnie is able to utilize many different processes shows her diversity as a photo-based artist. I am extremely proud of her drive to exhibit her work, and I cannot wait to see where her photographs are exhibited next,鈥 Lippillo added.
