Becca Thorn began her role as radio station manager Feb. 1 to plan, organize and supervise the station鈥檚 day-to-day broadcasting operations.

In 2014, Thorn received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in broadcasting and electronic media from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where she served as news director of WASU-The App for almost two years, followed by a nine-month stint as its music director. Additionally, she spent seven years in corporate sales.

鈥淏ecca brings a wealth of experience to the station. She is well-prepared to carry on the incredible progress made at the station to provide students with experiential learning opportunities that are meaningful and practical,鈥 said David Garraway, associate director of MSU鈥檚 Office of Public Affairs and director of the University Television Center.

Thorn replaces Neil Price, the 鈥淰oice of the Bulldogs鈥 for football and men鈥檚 basketball, who was additionally named play-by-play announcer for the Diamond Dawgs in January, succeeding veteran broadcaster Jim Ellis, who retired in December.
