Contact: Sid Salter

STARKVILLE, Miss.—ÑÇÖÞÉ«°ÉÊÓƵ (Starkville campus and the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville) will open under normal operations on Tuesday, Jan. 21, after receiving the latest weather advisories. Those campuses will maintain normal hours and operations as significant weather impacts are not anticipated for those areas.

The MSU-Meridian campus will shift to remote operations all day on Tuesday, Jan. 21, out of an abundance of caution as winter weather is anticipated for that area. A decision on MSU-Meridian operations for Wed., Jan. 22 will be announced on Jan.21.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling and to allow extra time. The university asks that each person exercise good judgment in making travel and personal safety decisions, with special precaution toward bridges, stairs and sidewalks if icy conditions should occur.

MSU encourages all students, faculty and staff to monitor the MSU website, official social media, and local media outlets for changing weather information and operational updates. Visit for more information.

MSU’s Gulf Coast engineering programs, housed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, should be aware that all MGCCC locations will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Wednesday, Jan. 22 due to inclement weather. All classes will be online. Visit for additional information.

All MGCCC campus facilities will remain closed except for the cafeteria and residence halls on the Perkinston Campus.
