STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he 亚洲色吧视频 Police Department has received National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
MSU Chief of Police Vance Rice was notified of the certification after a review by the FBI鈥檚 Criminal Justice Information Services Division determined MSUPD met all required criteria in the areas of system compatibility, system responsiveness, statistical reasonableness and satisfactory error rate.
鈥淲e are proud to be the first university police department in the state to achieve NIBRS certification,鈥 Rice said. 鈥淣IBRS allows for much more detailed and in-depth reporting.鈥
MSU is now one of 16 agencies in Mississippi that have earned the certification. NIBRS captures details on every reported crime incident, which allows law enforcement agencies to improve the quality of crime data. Incident data collected under the system includes circumstances and contextual items such as location, time of day and whether the incident was cleared.
The FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program is making implementation of NIBRS a top priority because the new systems can provide more useful statistics to promote constructive discussion, measured planning and informed policing. NIBRS is replacing the Summary Reporting System, which was an aggregate monthly tally of crimes.
