International Education Week to celebrate global cultures

STARKVILLE, Miss. 鈥 亚洲色吧视频 celebrates global experiences and cultures with a range of free activities next week [Nov. 12-16].

Scheduled events for MSU鈥檚 observation of International Education Week include:

鈥擬onday [the 12th], 6 p.m., Allen 13. Fifth Annual Feminist Film Festival will present 鈥淗annah Arendt.鈥 The philosopher and political theorist reports on the 1961 war crimes trial of Nazi Adolf Eichmann and the 鈥渂anality of evil鈥 for The New Yorker, leading to controversy over her alleged Nazi sympathies. Commentary led by faculty, as well as open discussion, will follow the screening.

鈥擳uesday [the 13th], 7 p.m. Join the Writing Center team for a night full of games, food, and laughter at 94 President鈥檚 Circle. Prepare for an hour or more of competitive board games, culture exchange, and more.

Also on Tuesday, Rashida K. Braggs will give a free lecture at 4 p.m. in Giles Auditorium to discuss her new book, 鈥淛azz Diasporas: Race, Music and Migration in Post-World War II Paris,鈥 which analyzes the post-war migration of African American musicians to Paris.聽For details, visit /newsroom/article/2018/11/jazz-historian-visits-msu-engaging-book-discussion/.

鈥擶ednesday [the 14th], 6 p.m., Foster Ballroom, Colvard Student Union. The International Student Advisory Board is hosting the second annual Global Night. Various organizations from campus will showcase their cultures and present a deeper understanding of the diversity reflected in MSU鈥檚 student body.

鈥擳hursday [the 15th], 3:30 p.m., Union 330. Hosted by the Office of Study Abroad, all students are invited to a reception showcasing all of the Study Abroad Photo Contest submissions from this year. Winners from a variety of categories will be announced and prizes will be awarded.

Throughout the week, the Study Abroad Photo Gallery will be available on the third floor of Mitchell Memorial Library. Delicious DestiNATIONS also will be featured from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. daily in Perry Cafeteria, including Indian, South Korean, European, Japanese and Mexican cuisine.

鈥淭he worldwide celebration of International Education Week offers opportunities for people on campus and in Starkville to interact with people from all around the world and get to know their cultures and experiences to develop broader understanding of聽our global society,鈥 said Kei Mamiya, Holmes Cultural Diversity Center program coordinator. 鈥淲e encourage students especially to get out of your comfort zones, explore the world, and find new possibilities in you and your future.鈥
