STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥斞侵奚墒悠碘檚 family-friendly Science Night at the Museum takes place Thursday [Feb. 15] in the same neighboring East Lee Boulevard locations as the inaugural event last year.
The university鈥檚 Museums and Galleries Committee again celebrates Darwin Week with a series of interactive activities spread among the Cobb Museum of Archaeology, Hilbun Hall鈥檚 Dunn-Seiler Museum and Harned Hall, home of the Department of Biological Sciences.
Free and open to all, the 5:30-7:30 p.m. Science Night is designed to illuminate the fields of anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, entomology, geology, paleontology, physics, and scientific illustration and veterinary science,聽 among others.

The evening concludes with a screening of 鈥淕attaca鈥 in the Harned Hall auditorium, Room 102. An Academy Award nominee for best art direction, the 1997 science fiction film was written and directed by Andrew Niccol and starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman.
In addition to the Dunn-Seiler Museum, Cobb Institute and its Dunnell Laboratory for Archaeometry and Artifact Conservation, Science Night sponsors include the departments of anthropology and Middle Eastern cultures, astronomy and physics, entomology and plant pathology, and geosciences, along with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Campus Tree Trail Commission.
